Stay AI's Smart Dunning feature eliminates all the guesswork when setting up dunning settings and handling customers' billing errors.
What is Dunning?
Dunning is the process of recovering a subscription after a billing attempt fails. Stay AI offers tools for automatically retrying payment methods under your Billing Settings.
Each time a payment fails, the failure is recorded in the Billing Failures tab, and Stay AI creates a Recovery ID or applies the failure to an existing Recovery ID on that subscription.
How Smart Dunning Works
After enabling Smart Dunning, all subscriptions that enter dunning will be dynamically assigned a retry schedule that works before that error.
Stay AI uses data from all stores to train its machine-learning model. Over time, our AI model learns and adapts, so as trends in retrying subscriptions change, so does Smart Dunning.
Enabling Smart Dunning
To enable Smart Dunning, navigate to the Stay AI merchant portal.
Click Settings.
Click Billing.
In the Failed Billing section, click the toggle switch to Enable Smart Dunning.
Please note that subscriptions already in the recovery process will use your old settings. This allows us to train our AI model better, resulting in more future successes.
