We've launched the next generation of Stay's URL Builder! Now offering a further streamlined checkout link builder, coupled with quick actions that are smarter, stackable, and trackable! We've created a user flow that enables hundreds of use cases that all result in high-conversion customer experiences.

Setting Up a URL in Stay AI

  • Navigate to Optimization > URL Builder in the Stay merchant portal

  • If you don't have any saved URLs, you will see an empty list page

  • Click "Create New URL"

Note: If you've previously created Quick Action URLs and included them in live emails, those links will still work—even though they do not appear on the list page. Customers who click those links will experience the updated customer portal flow.

  • Name your URL - this will be used for internal identification and is not visible to customers

  • Select your URL Type:

    • Quick Actions - Defined action plans that define specific updates that are to be made to a subscription when a customer confirms the action.

    • Checkout - Brings customers directly to the checkout page with predefined product and frequency conditions

Configuring a Quick Action URL

What is a Quick Action?

Quick Actions are URLs that can be embedded in any email or SMS platform (including Stay AI!). The URLs dynamically pull in user data so that when clicked, subscribers can navigate the flow you have created in Stay's merchant portal.

  • Select the actions that your customers will take when they click this URL from an email or SMS

More Information

Add Item

  • Select your variant

  • Determine if you want customers to add the product as a One Time or Subscription product

  • If the product is added as a Subscription product, it will be added at the selling plan discount on the subscription

  • If the product is added as a One Time product, it will be added at the Add One price of the product listed in the Customer Portal Settings. If there is no price dictated, it will be added at the full Shopify price.

NOTE: Bundle parent products are not supported via the quick actions flow at this time.

Skip Order

N/A

  • This action will set the next billing date of the subscription to the current next billing date + frequency of the subscription.

Delay Order

  • Frequency Unit - Day(s), Week(s), Month(s), Year(s)

  • Frequency Value

  • This action will set the next billing date of the subscription to the current next billing date + (selected frequency unit x selected frequency value).

Apply Discount

  • Discount Code

  • This action applies a Shopify discount code to the subscription.

NOTE: Please ensure the discount code is correctly input

Reactivate Canceled Subscription

  • Winback (true or false)

  • This action will reactivate canceled subscriptions.

  • If Winback is enabled, we will track reactivations as a result of the "Retextion - Winback Ready" Klaviyo event.

Swap Item

  • Swap From variant

  • Swap To variant

  • This action will swap the "from" variant to the "to" variant.

  • The swap "to" variant will inherit the selling plan discount on the subscription, which will be applied to the price of the variant

NOTE: Bundle children products are not supported via the quick actions flow at this time.

Change Frequency

  • Frequency Unit - Day(s), Week(s), Month(s), Year(s)

  • Frequency Value

  • This action will update the current frequency on the subscription to the selected frequency unit x frequency value.

Get it Now

N/A

  • This action will fire an order for the subscription at the time of the quick action being confirmed

You can stack up to 10 actions for a single URL. This unlocks hundreds of streamlined campaigns for your customers!

Note: When stacking actions, Reactivate Canceled Subscription will always be executed first, regardless of its position in the action plan. Get it Now will always be executed last. All other actions will follow the order you’ve configured.

  • Determine if you'd like your URL to Expire:

    • If toggled ON, provide the date that you would like your Quick Action URL to no longer be valid. On this date, your customers will not be able to apply the Quick Action to their subscription.

    • If toggled OFF, the URL will continue to be valid in perpetuity.

  • Save the URL

  • This generates an "Action Plan" specific to the URL

  • Select the platform you wish to use the URL in, and Copy the URL to Clipboard

    • URL builder is compatible with creating Quick Actions for:

      • Klaviyo

      • Postscript Automations

      • Attentive Journeys

      • Stay AI Emails

      • Custom Platforms

Note: If you would like to test a URL outside of a platform, you can replace the email and subscription ID variables in the link, or create that link using the Custom Platform while entering your email and subscription ID information.

  • Success! You're ready to paste the URL in the pertinent Email or SMS flow

Configuring a Checkout Link

What is a Checkout Link?

The checkout link builder allows you to create prefilled carts that link directly to your Shopify checkout.

These links are great for landing pages, email campaigns, blogs, or any webpage or communication where you are trying to acquire subscribers (or just one-time customers).

  • Select a Product.

    • You'll see a list of all products and their variants in your store. Find the product you are looking for, select the modal, and click add.

  • Once the product is added, you can select from any non-bundle selling plan groups assigned to the product.

  • If a product only has bundle selling plans or no selling plan at all, you won't see the Add as Subscription slider.

  • Once you select the selling plan group, select the selling plan. You'll see the amount off and the frequency displayed next to the Checkout/Cart label.

  • Set the quantity of the product.

  • Add additional products. You can see this product is not available for subscription.

  • Add a discount.

  • Copy the URL and give it a test.

  • Success! You are ready to embed this link wherever you'd like!

Note: The URL builder is not compatible with our bundles as we cannot pass the necessary line items in the URL.
