New Customer Portal > Products Pricing Defaults

With the upcoming launch of our new products and pricing interface, we are removing the feature "Use existing selling plan discount."

πŸŽ—οΈ Important Note πŸŽ—οΈ

All newly added products will be added with a default 0% discount for Add One, Subscription, and Swap.

Your Current Settings

Products that previously displayed like this in your Customer Portal > Product interface.

Will now display like this and so will all newly added products.

Don't worry!

Despite it appearing as though products are no longer set to "Use existing selling plan discount," your previous settings won't change until you hit the save button.

What does 'Use Existing Selling Plan Discount' do?

When a subscription is created, when a customer checks out or is migrated, there is an internal selling plan value assigned to the subscription. This discount is referenced by this setting when adding or swapping products.

Example:

I checkout with a subscription for Product A which has a 10% off selling plan.

I add Product B to my subscription which has "Use existing selling discount: selected for the Subscription setting. Product B will also be added at 10% even if it belongs to a 20% off selling plan.

This is why it is so important to set up these discounts manually and why we are removing this feature.

Bundles

Bundle Parent Products will continue to display "Use Existing Selling Plan" as the only option. In this case, it is using the selling plan of the bundle to provide pricing for the bundle parent and children products (not the discount policy of the subscription).
